Warlord early war Germans

The first of the Blitzkrieg and Pioneer figures from Warlord are finished.  These are from the Warlord Pioneer box, and they're a mix of plastic and metal bits.  I'm very impressed by the sculpts, and they were a good deal of fun to paint.

German Observer

I finished painting the Warlord German Observer with scissor scope. It's a very cool model; I really like the zeltbahn worn as a poncho.  Now to finish the basing...

Kradschutzen Squad

This weekend, I built the Berlin or Bust motorcycles and sidecar set. This was a bit of a kit bash, as I added figures from Artizan and Warlord and scratch built the MG34 mount.

Finished blocking in the base colors - shadows, highlights, and decals to follow.

Early War WIP update

The first figures have all the colors blocked in and details started. Clearly, I have work to do, but these are getting there.

Objective Prizes

I was asked to make an objective set as a prize for the upcoming Bolt Action Armor Tournament at Cold Wars.  So, I'm donating the following three objective markers.

When I asked what the event organizer wanted, I was told something "tanky."  Here is my artistic interpretation of "tanky" - all done on 60 mm circles in 1:56 scale.  My friend Thomas took the great photos.

First up: how about some blue prints for a Sherman Tank?

Next is a make-shift field repair station for broken armored vehicles.

And finally, a field depot full of tank parts and fuel.

Weekend WIP - Early War Germans

I built the Warlord Pioneer box set, an '88, and a Panzer II this weekend. Now to prime and paint. These will all be for an upcoming Bolt Action escalation league for 1939 to 1941.

The mixture of metal and plastics on the same figure was challenging, but I can't complain about the results. Check back often for updates on this build.
